Michael Whitenburgh coined the phrase ‘Insidious Bullying’.
Subtle, menacing and dangerious. People brush off, water down and allow sinister behaviours. Over half of those employed turn their backs, use excuses and allow this invisible discrimination without realising.
Not ‘making a fuss’ reinforces ‘Insidious Bullying’. But “It’s a personality clash” “We have a robust management style here”, “Just old so and so kicking off again”, “A macho management, but that’s what works around here”, “He has a terrible attitude problem if you ask me, but we just avoid him” and “Yes, she’s a bit abrasive at times but we put up with her” it then becomes the invisible persuader.
